Easter Egg Decorated Strawberries
These festive candy-covered strawberries are decorated to look like little Easter Eggs. They are available from several places on the internet, covered with everything from white chocolate to yogurt. You decide what covering you like and then you can order 1/2 dozen to a dozen at a time.
I have to warn you that they are not only pricey, but they are extremely perishable. Why not save some money and have a fun family play session and make your own?
All you need is to gather strawberries, some easy melt candies, and some frosting tubes or baggies. Melt the candy, then color with pastel food coloring. Dip the cleaned strawberries into the various colored candy melt and drizzle different color icing over the top to make decorated Easter egg strawberries. You don’t even need a decorator’s piping bag. Just put some frosting in a baggie, make a tiny snip in the corner and squeeze out designs, or curlicues, or whatever you want.
It may take some practice to make them look as perfect as the picture, but the important thing is that you can achieve results for much less money and make a whole lot more strawberry treats. And you can always gobble up the less-than perfect looking ones. Yum!
What a wonderful way to have inexpensive treats for Easter dinner. And, as a bonus, if you make them with your children, you are teaching them valuable skills.
