Growing up in Southern California I was lucky enough to learn about Mrs. See’s candies at an early age. These candies are so good, because they taste like they are homemade.
If you’ve ever heard about leprechauns, then you know that they are supposed to each have a huge pot of gold. But the only way humans can find the gold is to search at the end of a rainbow or, get these delicious Chocolate Gold Foil Coins from See’s. The gold-mesh bag holds two sizes of milk chocolate “gold” coins wrapped in foil, then stamped with “United States of America”. Absolutely wonderful!
For years, only southern Californians were able to get these fabulous sweets, but now they have online catalogs so the rest of the world can enjoy these delightful confections. And if you aren’t interested in gold coins, perhaps you would prefer See’s St. Patrick’s Day Potatoes. These clever candies are hand shaped and enrobed in See’s milk chocolate. The ’spud’ is then rolled in a special blend of cinnamon and cocoa powder. Finally, the ‘eyes’ of the potato are applied using pine nuts. They are so good, they have to be tasted to be believed.
